Could sleep be our most important tool for healthy skin? Why is sleep so important for the ultimate glow?
When we rest, our brain and body is hard at work, slowing down and repairing itself. As we sleep, our skin's blood flow increases and switches into "recovery mode"
Experts recommend adults get between 8-9 hours sleep each day for optimum health benefits, but our busy face paced lives often leave us unable to switch off, resulting in us getting far fewer hours than we need.
Rewild Skincare's tips for a better night sleep?
Wear a silk eye mask. Blocking out any light that may be creeping in can help you to get a better night sleep. Wearing an eye mask to bed may also help you fall asleep quicker by creating a calming effect. My top tip, make sure your eye mask isn't too tight around your head and try a silk one if you can!
Try a little meditation to help you unwind. Grab your bottle of Afterglow and squeeze a few drops into your hands. Warm the oil in your hands and cup them, bringing your hands close to your face.
Close your eyes, and take three deep breaths to inhale the relaxing scent.
Take the next few minutes to feel the back of your body on your bed. Feel where your body makes contact with your bed. Notice any areas of your body that feel uncomfortable or tired and send your breath to these areas to promote healing. Pause and take another few deep breaths. Finish your meditation with a little matra, and say it to yourself, either out loud or quietly inside.
